Top Indian wrestlers’ demands for immediate dissolution of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) remained unmet in a meeting with Union Sports Minister, Anurag Thakur.
The meeting, which began on Thursday night and lasted until the early hours of Friday, was attended by Olympic medallists Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dahiya, Sakshi Malik and world championship medallist Vinesh Phogat.
The wrestlers left the meeting without speaking to the reporters outside and will meet with the sports minister again on Friday.
The sports ministry has given the WFI 72 hours to respond to allegations of sexual harassment against several women athletes, but the wrestlers are refusing to end their protest until the WFI is disbanded.
