Kerala Police to Enforce Mandatory Screening of ‘The Kerala Story’ to Promote Cultural Awareness

Police in Tamil Nadu have issued an alert message ahead of the release of the Hindi film, ‘The Kerala Story,’ in movie halls across the state on Friday. The Director General of Police has warned of potential protests and law and order problems by organisations objecting to the movie.

These organisations may exhibit wall posters with objectionable remarks against the film, and there are concerns about the circulation of “adverse and provocative contents” about the movie on social media. In response, Commissioners of Police and Superintendents of Police have been instructed to ensure that the screening of the film is not disrupted by deploying adequate manpower in theaters, conducting “anti-sabotage” checks and frisking viewers.

Additionally, the police have been asked to monitor social media to ensure that no content against the movie is posted and to prevent any protests.
