Renault India Celebrates Remarkable Achievement as Tamil Nadu Plant Crosses 1 Million Car Production Mark

Renault India, a subsidiary of France-based automaker Renault S.A.S, has achieved a remarkable milestone at its manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The plant recently hit the impressive production mark of 1 million vehicles, announced a top official on Wednesday.

Located in Oragadam, around 45 kilometers from here, the manufacturing facility is a joint venture between Renault India Pvt Ltd and Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd. With an annual production capacity of approximately 480,000 units, Renault has firmly established itself in the Indian automobile market.

During a press conference, Venkatram Mamillapalle, the CEO and Managing Director of Renault India Operations, expressed his delight at reaching this significant achievement. He proudly announced that Renault India has a customer base of 900,000 across the country and, yesterday, they rolled out their one millionth vehicle from the plant. The milestone car, a vibrant red KIGER, was ceremoniously flagged off by senior company officials, including Mamillapalle himself.

Renault has made substantial investments in manufacturing, technology, and talent to develop a robust production infrastructure that upholds the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This production milestone is a testament to Renault’s manufacturing prowess and demonstrates their unwavering commitment to delivering top-notch vehicles, Mamillapalle explained.

At present, Renault India offers three passenger car models for sale: KWID, KIGER, and TRIBER. These vehicles are not only popular in the domestic market but are also exported to 14 countries, including the Asia Pacific, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), South Africa, and the East African region.

Mamillapalle emphasized the significance of reaching the 1 million production mark in India, highlighting Renault’s dedication to the Indian market and the trust bestowed upon the brand by its customers. He assured that Renault will continue to strive for excellence and introduce exciting products that exceed customer expectations.
